Welcome to boycottbrown.com
Have you ever ordered something online and have it delivered to your door broken, malfunctioning, or otherwise ruined because the deliveryman decided to play full contact football with it before drop kicking it to your door?
Have you ever checked on a package's tracking data to see it delivered, but have never found it anywhere on your property?
These questions form the basis for some of our complaints toward the modern package shipping oligopoly (a monopoly with multiple companies controlling the same market) that we're forced to deal with whenever we have a need to move something from one location to another, and the option to do it ourselves isn't really viable due to distance or time.
Do you have a horror story you'd like to share with others? This is the place for you! Feel free to register. It's free, it's easy, and most importantly, let your voice be heard! Unlike the support lines of our "favorite" shipping companies, we'll actually listen to your complaints!
Thursday 05 June 2008 We really are alive, I swear! Howdy folks!
We really are alive, and are encouraging you to register and post your horror stories!
Between a 60 hour work week slowly returning to a reasonable 50 hours, along with the fact that I am 3 weeks away from graduating college, I have been kept a little busy!
Kitty, however, is very available, and will also reply to posts, and with enough motivation, post some more of her horror stories too!CooponThursday 05 June 2008 - 19:47:17 Read/Post Comment: 0
Wednesday 02 April 2008 Hard Drive Failure Greetings everyone,
My apologies for the inactivity, I just wanted to let you guys know that my main hard drive failed, thus rendering my desktop non-functioning for the last 4 days.
The system is back up and running now with a shiny, new, .5TB Seagate drive, picked up in person, so Brown wouldn't kick it across their warehouse... that and I didn't feel like waiting 6 days to get it shipped from wherever I may have ordered it from.
Anyway, I'm glad to see everyone played nicely, the dishes are done, and the place isn't on fire.
I got a package in the mail today that appears to have been opened up, thoroughly looked through, all inner-boxes very much opened and inspected, and fortunately, nothing missing, to my knowledge. Pictures to come soon, as I've got a lot of things to do over the next few days, including homework and an overnight backpacking trip this weekend.CooponWednesday 02 April 2008 - 20:10:03 Read/Post Comment: 0
Saturday 29 March 2008 Register today! Greetings everyone!
I go and tell people about my site. I've had friends tell me "Yeah a buddy of mine has a problem with such and such shipping company." Well, folks, we want your stories!
The only way Brown, or Orange, or Blue are going to know that the average Joe hate the conditions in which we are receiving packages; provided we receive them in the first place!
Spread the word folks. This will only work with the support of the community. Registration is fast, easy, and most importantly: free!CooponSaturday 29 March 2008 - 19:06:51 Read/Post Comment: 0
Wednesday 26 March 2008 Shipping Company Ships Fuses of Nuclear Weapons to Taiwan. While I read about this yesterday, I really got a good chuckle out of an article posted on slashdot involving the accidental shipping of 4 Fuses which are used by the Minuteman Nuclear ICBMs to Taiwan.
I suspect this was an unintentional accident, and thankfully the fuses don't even have any nuclear material; I wonder which shipping company bungled this one up!CooponWednesday 26 March 2008 - 17:16:58 Read/Post Comment: 0

Friday 29 February 2008 Welcome TeamSNAFU.org Howdy everyone!
I just wanted to take a brief moment to welcome visitors from http://www.teamsnafu.org. Team SNAFU is an airsoft team/group that takes military simulation airsoft to the next level with very impressive gear loadouts full of real pieces of gear. Unfortunately, these awesome pieces of kit usually have to be shipped by one or more retailers.
I'm looking forward to your horror stories, folks!
On a side note, it seems that boycottbrown.com is becoming very "Airsofty" with a majority of it's members all from airsoft related websites. Well. To be honest. Airsoft is my favorite hobby, and really the only one I actively pursue on the net almost all the time. I would like to ask visitors to feel free to tell their co-workers, friends, and even family about this place, in an effort to span all communities. Every business I know of will use a shipping service at least once in their lives. Everyone has had to deal with any of the common parcel companies at some point. Everyone has a story. I want to hear it. Many other folks, experiencing the same problems want to hear it too.CooponFriday 29 February 2008 - 17:43:09 Read/Post Comment: 0
Thursday 21 February 2008 Welcome AirsoftNJ.com and WrightstownAirsoft.org I just want to take a brief moment to welcome my friends from AirsoftNJ.com and WrightstownAirsoft.org. I recall many threads posted on these forums by fellow Airsoft Enthusiasts complaining of broken parts, missing packages, badly damaged boxes, late packages, and everything else that really just upsets our whole experience with getting things shipped.
Welcome, Folks!CooponThursday 21 February 2008 - 05:23:47 Read/Post Comment: 0
Wednesday 20 February 2008 Site Updates Greetings everyone!
I just wanted to take a brief moment to point out the site updates:
Google Adsense has been implemented. - To keep the site alive, all proceeds from Google Adsense will contribute toward the running costs of boycottbrown.com.
The forums are slowly coming together. - If anybody can think of a section that we may or may not have, feel free to request it, either by contacting me via Private Message, via the forums, or the \"Contact Us\" link on the menu.
The banner art was updated, while not a permanent fix, as mine did involve stick figures (see below), it is a step in the right direction.

That is the exact reason why Kitty is our Graphics Designer.
Expect snazzier art shortly!CooponWednesday 20 February 2008 - 20:32:59 Read/Post Comment: 1
Monday 18 February 2008 BoycottBrown.com Launches! Welcome everyone to BoycottBrown.com
BoycottBrown.com was an idea created between myself and my Girlfriend, to bring to light some of the horror stories we've had, or have heard over the years by using such shipping companies as "Brown", "Blue", and "Purple/Orange". There are a few smaller companies, like "Yellow", and I'm sure many other foreign companies I've never heard of. These companies will go unnamed, because we recognize them by color, and I very much do not believe I can afford a lawyer, being a student.
Anyway, all of these companies have one thing in common: every one of them share in the membership of a Shipping Oligopoly, or a Monopoly with several companies owning the market instead of one.
You call their support numbers. You complain to support personnel. You might even get a supposed "Manager" on the phone. They will promise you the world, yet your parcel, being held hostage in a truck nowhere near your home, office, or P.O. Box is subjected to a myriad of unspoken abuses, all evident in the not-so-square shape of the box, the new holes, or broken items inside the box.
This is of course, provided, your package wasn't stolen in the first place.
It is my intent, over the next few weeks, through word of mouth, to provide the world community a place to vent about all of your shipping mishaps, here. Post stories, sympathize with fellow customers of these companies, and overall, make your voice heard that you won't stand to have your packages used as a drum set, foot rest, or doorstop by the employees of the only companies in the world that treat their inventory, the possessions of paying customers, so horrible, yet can still remain in business.CooponMonday 18 February 2008 - 17:37:32 Read/Post Comment: 0
